Mono, I hate thee ...

But first, the happy news (and my belated thanks):

Julie of The Raven' Picture Maven was ever so kind enough to bestow this --

-- for my post on tick fever/irritating spouses.

Thanks, Julie! (If you're feeling even a twinge of Saturday-night nostalgia for those teen years marked by Sixteen Candles or frightening spiral-perms, head over to her place for a hilarious recap of high school in the late '80s. There are two parts. Start here.)

And ... if you'd like to read the other ROFL posts -- and they are truly hysterical, you can find a list at Chicky Chicky Baby or metro mama.

-----------------------

Not-so-good news ...

Apparently, it's not a good idea to thumb one's nose at mono. I've suffered a relapse this weekend, and really, this stupid virus is kicking my ass. Again.

(For those who've read only the ROFLpost about Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever -- well, as it turned out, the culprit behind my woes was adult mono. Ridiculous, no?)

My sense of humor is suffering at this point, hence the delay in posting, but I'm hanging in there.

-----------------------

Back to happier -- no, make that fantastic! -- news ...

Whymommy of Toddler Planet received some wonderfully encouraging test results regarding her breast cancer. So why not head over there and give her a little mama support before she starts chemo next week?

----------------------

Now I'm heading back to bed, cursing the blasted mono on my way.

There's adult mono? I know so little of the world.

Get better soon, mama. And congrats on the ROFL Award.

Sorry that mono's still hanging around. Bastard. How do you get rid of it?

Congratulations on the award. Can't think of anyone funnier or more deserving.

My husband had mono when he was 21, and we STILL call him Johno.

I think it lingers and lingers, but let's hope for your sake it doesn't. Yuck
