Am trying not to hyperventilate

Tootie as she looked when I left home:

Here's what she did to herself:

And here she is after an emergency trip to a salon, where two stylists worked on what was left, all the while assuring Hubs that they see this sort of thing all the time. They were surprised, however, by how much she managed to cut off the back -- all the way to her scalp.

LMAO! Hello little boy. My sons did this too but they started with shorter hair. It'll grow, honest!

aaagh!! but you know what? despite it all, she's still cute!

Wow. That is some serious hair carnage, my friend. At least the stylists managed to salvage what was left of it. And kids' hair grows quickly, right?

Oh no!!! But the stylists did do an excellent job.

She really rocks that look, though....

I think she looks adorable! So stylish. America's next top preschool model (you don't want to hear that, though, do you?).

OMG!! Why did she do it? How does she think of it now?I have to agree the stylist did a great job. And yeah, I agree with the other bear, you are so calm about it!

I'm not calm, believe me. I've alternately laughed and cried over it. I still cannot believe she did it.

Aw! It'll grow back before you know it. Now you have a great story+photos to embarass her with at her wedding!

OMG! If mono wasn't enough...only consolation is that one day you might be able to blackmail her with the pictures.
Actually, I kinda like it. Were you letting her watch Britney Spears on television?

She can rock the pixie with the best of them.

I sort of liked picture #2 myself.

She is a cutie.

She is still absolutely adorable. It's just hair right? Right?

You must have FREAKED. She is so adorable, and thank goodness hair grows quickly. Oh, go on and hyperventilate. We'll have a drink waiting for you.

Wow. It'll take some getting used to, but since I wasn't used to the old look - I think she looks fabulous! Kinda punky, in a super cute way. She'll have that no-I-am-not-a-boy-thank-you-very-much look down in a few days!

Wow! I have a friend whose daughter has gone after her hair a few times with scissors but your little girl, now that is one chick with bravado! That's a pretty hip and cool look! She just needs some of that trendy kid wear, you know, multi layer jumpers and stripey leggings. :)

On the upside, my friend's daughter's hair grew back really fast.

(HUGS) to you!

Yep, that's a do, alright. I love Julie's comment about the trendy clothes. Grab some mousse or gel and you've really got some Wild days ahead. Yes, a bit short and I probably would have died inside, but that's what we pay premium hairdressers for -- a fantasic save. :) On the plus side, Daddy (who carts all 3 to school in the a.m.) managed two ponytails this morning. http://picasaweb.google.com/Webmomof3/Haircut/photo#5089071149023750274
Proof hair grows back.

She is a doll! The salon did a great job.

My dad did it to me! He was a barber on the side when he was in the Air Force and my mom thought it would be great if he would cut my hair into a pixie. He got it way too short. Fortunately it grew out enough for me to get it trimmed at the beauty school before my first day in elementary school.
